1.4 Stroke

CASE #1:

FINDINGS:

Superior longitudinal sinus and right transverse sinus thrombosis with biparietal hemorragic stroke
               T2 hypointense thrombus

  DIAGNOSIS:
          9

CASE #2
:

  FINDINGS:
Intermediate density: infiltration of cortical and sub-cortical white matters in right frontal lobe (with cortical extension).            Slightly hyperintensity on T2 weighted images.

  DIAGNOSIS:
          9

CASE #3:

  FINDINGS:
T1: a relatively well defined triangular area of decreased signal intensity in the left parietal region.
Some parenchymal atrophy is seen as subtle gyral hyperintensities representing methemoglobin

T2: we can better appreciate the white matter abnormalities and the vascular territory affected

  DIAGNOSIS:
          9

CASE #4:

  FINDINGS:
Diffuse cortical edema involving the frontal, temporal and parietal lobes with lepto-meningeal enhancement.

  DIAGNOSIS:
          9

CASE #5:

  FINDINGS:
There is a sharp edge zone of hyposignal on T1WI and hypersignal on T2WI and proton density image at the medial portion of the right medulla. AngioMR shows  irregularity and stenosis of the right vertebral artery at the same level which represents an atherosclerotic segment.

  DIAGNOSIS:
          9

CASE #6:

  FINDINGS:
Massive edema (hyperintense on T2WI) representing an ischemic infarct involving the right temporo-parietal region with sub-acute sub-arachnoid hemorrhage (desoxyhemoglobin) in a patient known for atrial fibrillation.

  DIAGNOSIS:
          9
